Week 7: Sound Effects For Beginning Clip

SOUND EFFECT TUTORIAL

By looking at the first audio layer, I will explain what each layer sounds like and how it contributes to the dramatic feel of the thriller.

  1. Represents the cut up clips that are shown in the shot. The cut up matches the clips.
  2. Two "Help!" sound effects recorded in post production by Christian.
  3. Bass Hit to intensify the suddenness.
  4. A sting to dramatize the scene (actually taken for the last 5 seconds of Nessun Dorma by Luciano Pavarotti)
  5. Re-recorded audio of Christian sighing and breathing harsh to show he has a hard time breathing when tied up.
  6. Crash Riser - tutorial in separate blog
  7. More breathing/ briefly saying "help" to add more depth
  8. Ambient noise (diegetic)
